The reception bell suddenly rang,when she got there a handsome young man introduced himself as,MR Makeit Snappy,from the local rag,"madam,i work for the "Gossip talkabout",i have heard about this place,and have been sent by my boss to get some gossip for our front page,we will give you a good write up,and put you you firmly on the map with our our readers,i would however like to spend my time here and see in the new year with you all""Miz Spelling said welcome and promptly stared showing him around,on reachinh the lounge they both stared at the scene before them,(well ,Spappy got snapping),then ita thought came to her,they were out in the woods last night,playing with fair's they said,i bet,they have been at the magic mushrooms,MRS Go-4it was so happy that her kitchen reputation was still in tacked,MR Snappy was now a little more at ease,poor thing had been so nervous

Nicos was indignant. To be honest, she hadn't recovered from being told to behave and was now very cross indeed.
"I have not been out in the woods. I have not had any mushrooms - magic or otherwise. All I have done is had some ginger beer from the fridge and some of the chocolate fudge cake left in the fridge. And by the looks of their faces and hands and those glasses, the same is true of Flo and Snoop."
It was clear to all that Nicos was telling the truth. Mrs Go-4it could see no other option but to...

Eventually the truth came out. The contestants had been upset that their "creations" were going to be used for free as part of the buffet. They wanted to prove that they were in charge and should be paid.
Why having their creations at the buffet would upset them was beyond Mrs Go-4it.
She did however offer them an alternative view. She could cancel the end of the competition, dump all their food and send them home. After all how many people ever remembered what they ate on New Year's Eve?
She left them to ponder this.Comment

Mrs Go-4it was much more organised than Mizz Spelling gave her credit for. The competitors only cooked in their own kitchen.... never in hers. There would be plenty food without the bits that the competitors had made. As for booze, the delivery from the new supplier was just arriving. There would be no shortage.
The only losers would be the competitors. They wouldn't go to the party, wouldn't meet Baul and Brue tomorrow, and wouldn't get a chance to win the prize. Knowing Miz Spelling they might also get bills for accommodation and food!..
She would let them stew now for an hour or two.....Comment

"What on earth was that?" exclaimed Flo, waking with a start.
"No idea", replied Snoop. "But I'm relieved to have woken up. What a terrible nightmare I was having!"
"Come on", said Nicos. "We've just about got time to finish the costumes before the party."
Flo and Snoop looked at each other. A party? Neither of them felt up to a party. But Nicos geed them up and shuftied them along and at last they got upstairs, only to find their costumes...Comment

After much deliberation Mrs Go-4it has decided that the Bake off competitors cannot have yet another chance, just too risky. Their showstopper cakes would be judged by Baul and Brue, but without the contestants in attendance. This couple of weeks had been so weird, but well paid, but she was now actively looking for a new job.
She had, helped by Miz Spelling, checked the competitors out and made aure that they handed in their room keys.
All she could do now was welcome in a new year. She just hoped that 2025 would be an improvement.....Comment
