To jurpit- to finally open up the stash of food set aside for the midwinter celebrations.

( and yes, we do have a stash like this of traditional English foods set aside for Xmas/New Year.)

I've just asked Mr Snoop: he says "closing time necking of unfinished beer".

Jurpit - nobody came close this time, although I think one or two definitions (Mr S's is very good!) fit the sound of the word far better than its actual meaning, which is to walk across snow covered ground by stepping into another person's footprints. We don't get enough snow to have the need to do that these days.

                Today's word is marcescent (adjective).

                  Marcescent - a person who's fell in a marsh.

Mr Pots think its - It describes someone who's just stopped walking.

Marcescent - the adjective used to describe the mixed white glittery effects in snow globes, Christmas cards and advent calendars, in particular if the glitter picks up the froth on the peaks of waves in seaside scenes.

Edited to add: Mr Snoop is out. I'll ask him later.

                        I actually know this one!
I have seen this a few times chez moi ( trying not to give the game away)

Flo is closest, as it is a leaf thing. It describes a leaf that has withered and died but still clings to the tree.

                          Today's offering: powl (verb).
