no, same potential problem apparently, they are doing updates right back to version 5. you will get the right update for yours when we all get ours so don't worry.

if your updates are normally done automatically then it will be.

not everyone has them set this way, for instance mine downloads them automatically, but asks me if i want to install, that way i can check online first to see if there are any issues with the update before i install it.

the default is to download and install auto. so unless you have changed the setting, then it will do it all for you.

I downloaded Chrome, and quite liked it but can anyone point me in the right direction so I can send mail from my Hotmail account when using Chrome? I haven't been able to find a fix that works, there was one apparently until a recent update of Hotmail! Perhaps a fix doesn't exist

            to be honest i can't.
i never send mail via web based browsers, i have my own email accounts on my own servers.

i do have a hotmail account for msn, and a googlemail account for registering with some websites.
I use outlook express, which runs on IE's engine so even i can be stubborn about certain things

there may not be a fix, but i will have a browse and see what i can find.

            EDIT:

had a quick look into this issue, and it appears there is no fix as yet, reason being hotmail is microsoft owned and they don't want you using anything but IE, so they rushed out an update to hotmail, which stops it working in Chrome, who would have figured
Google won't take that lying down and will no doubt do a fix as soon as they can, in the meantime, if you really don't want to use IE for hotmail, it will work in firefox.
lots of faffing about i know, but its always the consumer that gets caught in the browser wars.

dontcha get tired of microsoft pulling these stunts?

Just discovered....if you click/press the wheel on your mouse(to scroll with),then a little white circle appears on screen(with arrows up & down).....then just the slightest move of mouse whizzes you to top or bottom of screen!...bit happier now!

no, but in his defence he no longer runs microsoft, it's a common misconception, but he has no say anymore over what they do, just rakes in the royalties.

                    • The IE7 patch was released as advertised at 10AM Pacific Time, which was 6PM GMT (7PM vine time) I have downloaded and installed it on one of my machines.

                          • I don't use IE - strictly Safari or Firefox - and i just never get any problems with them. My GF has got Vista and is always getting updates for it Why couldn't they get it right first time --or even the 10001th time!!

I'm just not convinced that IE will be as secure as its supposed to be, even after the fix.
