  • Man I just love Karaoke!!

I know lots of people think it's sad, but I love Karaoke!!

OH and I had just finished lunch at our works Christmas Party this afternoon, and he likes to leave straight after the Christmas Pudding, but our friend was running the Disco, so we had to pop in and see him and...oh dear, they seem to be doing Karaoke, what a pity, I'd better sing 'Do Wah Ditty' by Manfred Mann before we go . I had to bully the DJ into playing the song there and then (coz OH didn't want to hang around - and I didn't want much of an audience (everyone else was still upstairs drinking coffee or in the bar)) I got all shakey and excited, then the intro played and I belted it out good and proper. My boss said I had a secret talent and refused to follow on from me

Bride you should totally try it, its a rush! I had to down a few pints of Newkie Brown the first time, but it's addictive!!

      Favourite songs are:
Heard it through the Grapevine (oh, that's funny)
      Shake a tail feather
and today's number 'Do Wah Diddy', coz none of them have any tricky notes in them to catch you out.

i have done it, on drunken nights out with the girls back in the day, and once i have had a few it's fantastic, but it has to be in a group and a big crowd drunk enough to sing along, can't be doing it when there is only 6 people in the pub.

I did it once and loved it. Mine was American Pie and, as you say "what a rush" I loved it but have never had the chance to do it again I always fancy having a go at something by Mama Cass or Karen Carpenter

I once went on a girls weekend away. There was only one rule. I was not allowed to sing!!
Thankfully I have never been drunk enough to do kareoke, and I have been pretty drunk in my day
Secretly I would love to do it!

You go girl! I'd love singing lessons. I used to be able to do all the descants to all the Christmas Carols when I was in the school choir (18 years ago now - blimey!), don't think I could now though.

                          Just reviving this thread,

Its one year on, and I've just got home from the works Christmas Party. It was karaoke-a-go-go this year!!
I sang 'Losing My Religion' REM (twice, coz someone missed it and wanted a reprise), 'Bang and Blame' REM, dueted on 'Ruby' Kaiser Chiefs and 'What Becomes of the Broken Hearted' Jimmy Ruffin with my friend Ben.
Another friend who plays bass in a band said 'Damn, you can sing girl!' How cool is that!!

I agree, its not fun when someone murders a song, I just get such a buzz out of it. Simple things keep me happy
