  • From the sublime to the ridiculous

Over a weekend I have gone from working all over Christmas till 12th Jan on an upgrade job in Mansfield to having been today laid off till the 12th Jan.

Literally from the sublime to the ridiculous.

Thankfully I have a bit of side work to carry me through but its just shows how things in the current climate change literally overnight.

Ahh, theres a tale Fiona. Until yesterday our tumble dryer was in the old pantry but as we are converting our loft, there was a perfect space for it to go under the new stairs going up into said loft. This now givesus back the pantry which was desperately needed for all the preserves to go in, rather than down the workshop where they get all dusty. 30 litres of pasta sauce take up some room I can tell you.

Having the side work is a boon. With freezers full of home grown stuff and a wine celler filled when times were good we will survive in good order, to be honest, I will be more grateful of the rest than the money.

Thanks Lynda, all changed, hope you fat burn is feeling better after last night grope.

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery

Sounds like a blessing in disguise PW. S'long as the lay-off doesn't go on tooo long, the rest will do you good
(We've still got a good few jars of 'Dolwixio' sauce too, hurrah for canners and tomato gluts )
