Hmmmm, I'm set to go this evening - got to pick up my reserved turkey from the farmshop then hit T.... for loo roll, catfood and such everyday essentials. The veg will be dug tomorrow afternoon and if there aint enough, well I aint going back shopping after tonight!

Wish me luck as I head into the foray...

I spread the food shop over 4 days of cunning planning. One week before xmas I get a delivery of things that can store (kitchen towel, flour etc) on the 21st I do the rest in Tescos that I couldn't store so easily - cream etc. On the 23rd I go to the farm shop and get our vegetables. On the 24th i collect the turkey from the butchers.
                  Stress free and accurately timed.

Argh! Argh! Just back from Waitrose. Mad! I'm pretty laidback and thank goodness for that, looking at the stress on some people's faces. There is something comical about it though. People yelling "Oh for ****'* sake! They've run out of Creme de Cassis and duck fat." At what other time of year can this be considered a crisis?

Had to buy an entire seafood platter just to get two Cromer crabs as I'm doing potted crab for a Chrimbo Day starter; but apart from that, did ok. Mr R at dinner thing in Lincoln tonight so will eat remainder of seafood platter with some chili dip and mayo!

I could've posted you some, Cromer's only half an hour away. Mind you, with Royal Mail, you'd not have got it until Valentine's Day

My OH dropped me off at work this morning at half seven and went straight to the local ASDA, sent me a text message to say that it was like a Saturday in there. Why the need for this siege mentality? They shut for one day, and in and around our area, there's always a shop or two open on Christmas day anyway.

Online shop for me too, local veg shop for things I haven't grown, local butchers this morning for turkey etc. Everyone very friendly and jolly in the butchers queue at 8.10am - might get a bt frazzled later methinks.

                              Merry Xmas all!
