Picked up the pre-ordered meat today (we're having beef wellington for a change) and nearly fainted at the price! There is actually enough meat there for the six of us tomorrow, and a further six meals, so I suppose it's not too bad, but I skimped on the booze because I thought I'd overspent.

Next year we're having Turkey or Goose. I'm gonna keep it with the Chooks, and they can baby-sit it til next Crimbo!

    Orders please...

The carnivores had a 3 bird roast last year (chicken & pheasant inside a goose) ~ £73 !!!
This year they've got an Aldi special (a tenner) ... and I will immediately put half aside for curry, or they'll scoff the lot today. Eyes are not bigger than bellies in this house

We remembered to defrost the chicken (free range/corn fed, reduced to £3.50 in the Co-op last week & bunged straight in the freezer). But, we forgot to get the pudding out... So it's going to have to be microwaved instead of steamed... Never mind, it'll still be gorgeously chocolatey

forgot the prawns, which in the end was handy cos we forgot the salad stuff too, so saving them for the weekend, too much food anyway won't need starters.

I wonder why when there are only three of us i cook for 20!!!

well done if you defrosted whatever you were having, my sister reminded me on christmas eve to check wether the turkey was defrosted as the innards were still frozen in hers, good job she did as mine were as well even tho it had been defrosting for 48 hrs by then and I had a job pulling them out.
