Cheers dudettes, you're so sweet.
I wasnt going to mention Gerty's demise on this festive day, but she bleated her last just after 9 this morning. She was then served up in the usual style.
Have you ever heard the tale of Alexander Selkirk and his goats?

Life's disappointments are so much harder to take if you don't know any swear words.

I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
Finally Manda, I had noticed your customary British sense of fair play for animals even at the expense of old fat blokes in the swamps.
I felt even more sorry for the goat cos it gave its life in vain. Tasted vile.
Shirley do you live anywhere near the castle in Pembroke?
Shall be on my way home in 2 days and shall eat no goat till my return.

The goats didn't ask to be there! I am a veggie too - the OH says (having kept goats that) goats are miserable f*ckers, with hard heads, but I like 'em!
I have eaten goat often RedThorn, my first wife was a Jamaican and its a popular dish in the Caribbean.
Here though, culinary pleasures just arent of an interest. Its just a means of filling our stomachs so we dont complain of being hungry.
Less than 2 days is all I have left.
SBP, It didnt ask to be here, I can vouch for that as I saw it dragging its little hooves as it came through the gates. But I have no issues with eating it, I am higher than it in the food chain. I hate living goats nearly as much as I dont like eating dead ones. I think your OH has the idea.
Lynda, the food is never good here. I mean, carrot and watermelon jam???? Come on!!!

Oh Bob, you raised our goaty hopes and dashed them in one fell swoop. Try curried goat Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall style, but stay away from him Manish Water - sounds 'orrible!
