I don't want to sound ungrateful, but I'm quite disappointed with my presents this year. People really don't know me very well it would seem.
I hate that; you feel upset that people have not thought about you at all when buying your present, but then probably feel twice as bad at being upset, guilty/greedy/whatever.
Whatever it is, ebay it and buy yourself a new pruning knife/seceteurs/heated propagator. Don't waste your head space with the negative emotions
I did quite well this yea apart from M-in-law but that was to be expected.
I got handbag, electric propagator, coat, food and garden books, clothes (lost 3 stone so kinda needed them), lovely massive yankee candle, furry slippers (great for my chilblains), handcream, a rocking chicken ornament (is hideous but good fun lol).
M-inlaw gave me some money (first time ever, I normally get a vocher for a shop that about 100 miles away), some hideous pointless bits and some OUT OF DATE chocolates. Unreal
HW I feel for you with your disappointing pressies. It is normally me that gets tgem. OH hates it normally as he always gets socks and pants and ties (he wears jeans for work so no need for ties). This year he refused to open anything soft til then end. But he did well as I'd got him loads of fun stuff like a stunt granny game, racing tortoises, windup torch, bah humbug hat, and a pasta twizzler and a powered wrench. He says he is looking forward to next year now!
Father Christmas took heed of my letter this year and got me a pair of 10 pin bowling shoes and an MP3 player. My friend gave me some of her Jerusalem artichokes to plant since I eat all mine this year and forgot to keep some aside to plant (oops).
Root trainers (from two different people), modules and peat pots for raising seeds, 'Veg Box' set of recipe books, gardening gloves (can you see a theme developing here?), some of the the 'Expert' books....
.... and a professional weather station from OH, so I can see how cold it is in my veg garden and fret about the plants with accurate information to hand!
I was pleased with all mine,so 'fraid I can't offer no swaps!
Got,a gardening journal, pink fluffy dressing gown(makes me look 10 sizes bigger...but ever so warm),The Kings of Leon album, money from parents & grandparents to buy fruit trees(already bought 5 & have some to spare,so may go into chook fund!),a few homemade choccie treats & a pretty piccie frame complete with a rather fetching piccie of HFW!
The only "tragic" pressie was Mousetrap for DD.....Andi spent nearly an hour setting it all up,only to discover that the main component was missing!!
the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.
Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.xx
