Thanks everybody, think I've just got the glums today really. A quick question though for all the other giving-uppers, have you got a sore mouth? I have and it feels like oral thrush though there's no sign of the white blobs you get with thrush

in answer to your question yes stopping smoking can give you a sore mouth, try pineapple juice.

What do you want for your birthday? To be a non-smoker? Throw your fags out now, don't tell anyone, and by the time your birthday comes round you'll be over the worst of it ... and can buy & wrap yourself something nice with the cash saved

How were you feeling by this time when you gave up Two_Sheds?

Yes, I'm feeling good about myself, and the not spending money on fags is good too. Just had another "stress-inducer" in the post today though - a �550 tax demand from ages ago when I was part of a business and the accountant seems to have made some not very good decisions (like opting for me to have extra tax deducted from future income, but I don't get any income apart from pension now!) Anyway, smoking a cigarette isn't going to pay the bill or make it go away, so I think it's time to sell my body (once I've ironed it )

Anyway, it's January 10th and I've got till January 31st to pay it, that's 21 days, I've already got �400 stashed away in my "rainy day" fund, so divide the remaining �150 by 21 = just over �7 a day .......................... hmmmmmmmmmmmm wonder what else I can sell, the chooks don't lay THAT many eggs, think it's time to clear out the garage and the shed

well day ten for me, and feeling fine this morning apart from a hangover, but still no ciggies despite being up until 2am nattering online

Well day 27 for me, had a few bad times this week but managed not to surcome to the dreaded weed.

Think i was starting to get a bit to smug about the hole giving up smoking thing until the demons decided to have a play around with my head this week.
I'm back on full alert now and have done a few sums to help and encourage all of us to continue, me more than most, those figures are scary.

morning all, feeling a bit like Sarzwix's ankle today.
a lot better, but too scared to poke it unless i have a relapse
