how sad he;s been treated in such an appalling way.....but what a boy for still 'smiling' and trusting the species which inflicted that on him...hope he finds a happy home where he'll get lots of love x

There's nothing I can say that's printable here. Good luck to Oliver - the lad needs it.There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

Like others, I don't have the forum friendly words to express my feelings.
Good luck Oliver (big hugs)I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

I looked at this pic and was horrified, as was my OH. We, like OWG, have 2 Boxers and can't believe that anyone can treat a puppy this way.
Boo is currently rolling all over one of the couches and Maximus is sparked out on the other!
They look at you as though you are deliberately starving them if we are a few minutes late handing out dinner!!
Give him a big love from us next time you see him please?Last edited by kirsty b; 30-12-2008, 06:53 PM.Kirsty b xx

Poor Oliver, no wonder you were so upset, made me cry too, especially having had a happy, healthy boxer myself. He looks lovely in his fleece though & hopefully will get a loving new home. A friend of mine adopted a rescue boxer earlier this year, she was a white boxer & was found to be deaf & partially sighted too (the rescue centre didn't mention this when she was adopted!). She now has a lovely home & looks beautiful & responds to hand signals. Whoever takes Oliver on with have to have a lot of patience but I bet he will make a brilliant pet.Into every life a little rain must fall.

Thanks for all your posts!
Oliver doesn't have a home lined up yet, as he hasn't yet put enough weight on to be in a re-homeable state. However the resuce are confident that he will find a home soon enough. The deafness is a small worry, however, since my Boxers ignore me most of the time anyway, I can't see how he is any different!
I would love to have Oliver, but with 15 animals already, I don't think we would be able to give him the special attention that he will need (in terms of one-on-one training etc).
He already looks a little different, his head, neck and shoulders are starting to look better - the only thing that gives him away is his waist and back end... he will fill out soon enough!

I have a friend who paid good money for a Horse in similar condition. It took the best part of two years to get his digestive system to the stage where his poo smelled the same as the other Horses - makes you wonder what lasting damage has been done.
These people don't want prosecuting, they want the same treatment they gave the animals! All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment

Mixture of emotions, seeing him like that but to see him gaining weight is marvellous. How can people be so cruel, I used to rescue reptiles for a while, in terrible states, close to death at times. I gave up because of my ill health and the fact that it was making me ill. If it wasnt for people like your friends, these poor animals would be dead.Dont worry about tomorrow, live for today
