Ive been celebrating new years eve for over 20 years, i started when i was 15 years old! im now 36 and it just doesnt mean the same anymore, for the past few years myself and my OH go to our local indian takeaway, get some nice food in, have a few scoops in the local (country type pub 5 doors from my house), come back and have some drinks in the house and our takeaway and open a bottle of champers at midnight, just perfect.
Life isnt about surviving the storm.....But learning to dance in the rain.

      Hi Stella.

I caught some nightmare cough/bronchitis in the summer and it took several months to go, so I sympathise. It only went after heavy duty antibiotics [the second time around]. It's not fun is it?

I hope you feel better soon.

Happy New year to eveyone what ever you decide to do. Sleep is all I want, the coughing is so bad I feel I might burst something!!! My OH says every one has it, why is that no consolation at all. Although he does keep ringing me from work to see if I am ok

Can I join you all in the boredom stakes? I haven't left the house for over 2 weeks

And for me, New Year's Eve for the last 14 years has consisted of watching OH get drunk and annoying (I rarely drink and NEVER get drunk), before going to bed at 2 minutes past midnight.... Deep joy...

Well, we live in a rock'n'roll house here. I've just spent the last 2-3 hours sorting out my seeds, making seed packets and lists etc, LadyWayne has been sat at the other end of the table re-covering the nursing chair. Stereo's on playing an "afternoon" selection, and we're going to watch Hancock in a bit (the Will Smith film, not the 60's comedian). Then we might have a glass of red and sit down in front of the TV to watch Jools - though it's highly probable that LadyWayne will be asleep by that point. I might get a few chapters of "The Bloke's Guide to Pregnancy" in too.

In Teignmouth on new years eve every one dresses up and its great fun I do miss going out. One year we went to my nephews pub and my daughter and niece decided they were going to dress up so out came the dressing up box and they both went as princesses they thought it was great fun.
Still deciding wether to go to sisters or not probably not

Ok we have decided to stay home but we are going into town just before midnight to see in the new year at the clock tower, its a two min walk but will probably drive as OH doesnt drink, also means if there is any trouble we can make a quick getaway. Flowers has always wanted to do this but usually she has fallen asleep and then woken just in time to see in the new year, now she is 12 I expect she will be awake and we will be asleep lol.
