I try to be an organic gardener whenever possible so why not do my bit for the planet by running an LPG fueled car says I?

I run a huge 4X4 which runs on LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas)

It costs me 38p per litre for gas and the emissions are practically non existant! It costs me about as much as it would to run a small family car but I have a 3.2 V6 engine throbbing under the bonnet with the added advantage of four wheel drive if I want or need it

Before you ask their is no difference between driving on gas and petrol. LPG is high octane and is good for the engine because it is so clean

It means I can keep my large car, help the planet and save money! Yippee
I have had it about six months now and will never go back to either petrol or diesel only cars.

Like Alan Suger "I believe in them"

When I was in Australia for a couple of years, they have 'duel fuel' cars over there. You can run them on either petrol or LPG. The LPG was always a real bargain if you could get it - not always as easy in the middle of the outback... hence why 'duel fuel' was needed.

The cars ran alot cheaper over there (great when you're on a back packer budget) because of it. Only downsize is the fact that the cannister in a normal car sits in the boot and takes up quite a lot of space.

Certainly a good idea though - with a bit of refinement!

Two points to bear in mind:-

      * I live about 1/2 mile from LPG re-fueling station, so it is ideal
      * I purposely went for a vehicle with an under mounted tank...under the back floor next to the small petrol tank...no loss of internal space and no ugly cannister in boot

      As I said, I can't fault it!

Sounds all good in my opinion! Don't see too many LPG cars over here.

With the petrol costs as they are, I would think that more would have them.

Did you find it hard to get an LPG car? Were you specifically looking for one, or did you just come across one and think it was a good idea?

Yeah I was looking for one but it was the underslung tank and the close proximity of a filling station which did it for me, although there are loads of filling stations nationally and about half a dozen within a 10 mile perimeter of my home. Don't like diesel (had one) and couldn't afford to run a petrol version.

Got it off ebay and travelled half the country to pick it up. Its been worth it though

            Radius not perimeter...silly me!

Anyone else on the vine run their car on LPG, love to compare notes as there doesn't seem to be many of us about?
