he he , well i never said i didn't have a weird sense of humour, truth is, i admire people that dont smoke, i do not think drinking is a bad thing in moderation ( you can't smoke in moderation), as a species we have been drinking for thousands of years, do NOT try to make me feel bad about it
'morality' is a far more recent concept, but we will save that argument for another time
Hi Bridey
I have no problem with people drinking (except the violent ones) my OH drinks wine every night, I used to drink a fair bit at one time, but two close friends have died in recent years through alcohol one male 43 died through liver failure and my OHs closest friend died last year after falling down the stairs whilst drunk (she was 42 ) I just lost the appetite for it a few years ago also I drive a lot and need my licence. As for smoking I gave up 14 years ago - now I am just a smug reformed smoker
For my 18th birthday - many years ago!- i got given a book titled "The Hangover handbook". The first part was all scientific about what causes a hangover ( and it isn't really dehydration), but tthe second part was all about hangover cures. Some were from "celebrities" (WC Fields on being asked about drinking water as a cure allegedly said "Water! Fish F*** in water!" ) whilst some were more logically based around a hair of the dog etc - and they are my favourites. So my cure starts when i get in - a litre of water with 2 paracetamol, repated if i get up in the night!. In the morning, orange juice, toast and honey and if my head is banging a small whiskey or vodka, just to realign the brain cells
My cure is not to drink. I know it`s boring but I`ve only found one drink that I like the taste of, Tia Maria and Coke (it tastes like cola cubes), and after one or two it gets a bit sickly.
I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person.
