You're not alone. Following recent blood test results I've decided to cut down - not that I drank a lot to begin with, just perhaps too frequently. Will do me good in the long run.

Oh good, an ally at last!

It's Friday night, and over the last few years OH and myself have got into the bad habit of 'shelebrating' the end of the working week with a slap up meal and a bottle (or two ) of wine.

I just know he'll sit there in front of me tonight with a bottle, while I'm sipping water!

Then he'll suggest cheese and biccies later, so he can have a glass of Port - dunno if I can resist that.

I find that if I keep drinking, the hangover keeps being delayed

I've just remembered the bestest hangover cure ever from years ago, when Mr R and I first did a bit of camping and the like in Australia. In those day we'd drink a ton of lovely Aussie wine, cook a few Moreton Bay bugs over a campfire and go to bed dead late. We'd always wake up very early because of the birdlife and sunshine, and would usually go for a 5.00 a.m. swim in the lovely warm waves, then a massive plate of Eggs Benedict and a fruit smoothie somewhere. What hangover?! *sighs*

It only takes 2 or 3 sips of a glass of red to make me feel slightly fuzzy the next day. I hate feeling fuzzy! So I very rarely have any sips of anything.... Therefore no fuzziness!

I dont drink much often. Ok a couple of nights a week I will have a small glass of vino or a can of cider but thats it. However If I play rugby at home its either a J20 or quite a few pints of guinness. As I can drink an awful lot before my legs fail I dont bother.

Now, the cure, a pint of orange juice before bed and a pint of orange juice and lemonade in the morning with a pinch of salt in it plus 2 bananas on the side.

I actually had a hangover on NYD, shouldn't have mixed the grape and grain.Yes I got into the habit of coming home on a Friday night and holding my hand out for a glass. OH and I kidded ourselves that we "only drink at the weekends" but I daredn't tot up the units! So we've decided to cut right back to saturday night only, and stop buying boxes of wine! Then we can keep track.

I tried jogging, but I couldn't keep the ice in my glass.

I don't drink much but the cure is a large glass of water before bed and mash on toast for breakfast, with lashings of ketchup and a hot milky coffee.
