Right, back in time, when seahorse was a small girl and the Romans occupied Britain, grapes were grown as far north as the Humber estuary. In the 1700s, the river Thames froze so solidly they had "frost fairs", 10,000 years ago woolly mammoths ran about where smallblueplanet now lives, and now, 2008 is the warmest on record.
For some, Global warming is a conspiracy theory, for others, it shows a need to wear hemp shirts and straw knickers.
My view is that Global warming, and indeed cooling are natural phenomenon, but we are accelerating the warming proccess more quickly than the natural cycle and may eventually take it to a critical point where it may not recover for many millenia, or may send it over into an ice age.
How far do we go in attempting to stop the temp rising, as surely, it being a bit warm is a better option than the next ice age. Imagine your gas bills then.
