its getting more and more that way, the longer you live the more you see it, my dads recycling was tea on the roses and eggshells in the compost, the chickens got the potato peelings.

thing is its NOT too late.......... it was just never an issue in the first place, we may have speeded things up a bit, but that's all, all this panicking is hubris, no matter how 'good' the human race could have been , it was still doomed to die out eventually, in the grand scheme of things.

honestly, i love you all and please feel free to do what you can to 'fix' it, it will make you nicer people ( note i did not say better) but accept that you are like ants on a dunghill, you do not have the power to 'save' the planet, accept that your time here is a gift granted, and live every day as it comes, to the best of your ability, with all the fun you know how to have.

The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

Livestock produces 9 percent of human-induced carbon dioxide (CO2); 37 percent of all human-induced methane (CH4); and 64 percent of ammonia, which is tied to acid rain. It also generates 65 percent of human-induced nitrous oxide (N20), which the FAO says has 296 times the global warming potential of CO2.

and thats just the farmstock ........ add in wild animals and farting husbands and we have a problem

soooooo i say shoot all men wot fart, kill all the animals, and ban sprouts ...... sorted

other than that, there has always been climate change, and always will be .... though i do think we have to do more recycling, cos at some point were gonna run out of space.

A couple of years ago I had a very interesting conversation with a gentleman who had worked on a French Antarctic Weather Station (I think I got that right), and he said the same; It's a natural phenomenon, and that the sea-bed temperature has hardly altered a fraction in the last ?? hundred years.

Ironically, now he has a company that sells thermal clothing

Maybe he knows more than he was telling

and as usual Lynda hits the nail on the head...........all this 'angst' about global warming has nothing to do with the survival of the planet, it has to do with OUR survival on the planet, if we could find a way to survive without changing our ways too much, we would do it in a flash, the truth is we don't care, about anything but ourselves, unless it is in small ways, ways we cant be called mad for, save an ex-batt you are a good person, no matter your motives you get to join the 'caring club', save a fox, well that's a grey area, but really who 'needs' foxes? ( who decides who needs foxes?), save a serial killer, you are loopy. point being you have to FIT into the moral code of the times, or be judged.

moral codes have a nasty habit of being hypocritical, 'do as i say, not as i do'.

Let's face it - there's bog all we do about climate change. The government are just using it as a ruse to tax us all even more than before. Bride is right about the arrogance of man, thinking we are responsible for a natural phenomena.
BUT we should do more about re-cycling/using and tend towards a more organic way of growing for our own benefit.

As for tampons being tax free if men had to use them - lets face it, if men had to use them every month they would be free - not just tax free!!
