  • OK confess who threw a sicky today

Apprently today is expected to be the day when the largest numbers of sickies have been taken. I arrived at work this morning only to find the very large barn we work in had no heating the boiler has broken down, its cold at the best of times but it was warmer outside than in. I left and said I would work from home well I didnt say when I was going to work errrm I will catch up tonight

Nope, I'm currently sat in the office - heating's not working and even I feel cold. That said, we've got the aircon on "heat" just to take the edge off until the heating gets going.

Nope, i work from home and the heating is off until the OH gets back from his little shopping trip in Nottingham. I'm harder than he is [lol] and don't have the heating on at home when I am here until about 3pm. Unless my fingers turn actual blue, in which case, the fan heater goes on.

I would have planned taking today off if I had a proper job.

Luckily my postie didn't throw a sickie as he just delivered my new boots, [ordered on the day after boxing day], so I'm striding round in those today. Good ickle postie.

OK all you 'work from home' bods - what is it that you do?

Is it easy to get into/could I do it/what could I earn?

Just a thought - not intending to sound nosey I just want to earn a crust over the winter months when no one wants me in their garden.

Well, I have the ridiculous job of advising construction companies on how to maximise their CITB grant income for any training that they do. There's only me and I do travel the country but most of my work once a relationship is established is at home, looking at records and spreadsheets and making sure the data is recorded properly and will meet grant claiming criteria.

That's why I have plenty of coffee around and am often pivot tabling to get figures together.

We are officially off till th 5th but most of us are laid off till the twelth. However at 3am this morning I took 3 work mates to brum airport as they are working in Norway. The rest of the day is mine now.

I work in Australian migration, I work with a Head-hunter, I work with a couple other types of companies - baseline is I am an Administrator/Project Manager/Organiser/PA/Analyst/SEOer/Book-keeper - pretty much anything 'they' want me to be.

I have been self-employed, working from home since 2000 - tis a goodly way to earn a living so long as you can manage yourself and your time - sitting watching daytime TV is a deffo no no

I would love to work from home but sadly lack the skills to do so.
