These things are often sent to try as at the very time we need the positivity.

What complete and utter $$^%%& £%^$%^&s.

Have a steeley cuppa and be strong for today - I hope you get some chunky guys to give you a hand getting it back upright.

If the low life scum had injured themselves on the glass, Maureen would pobably be facing a law suit by now.

Hope you can get the shed righted soon and then when you gain access there is nothing missing and not too much broken.

I had my house broken into a few years back and they took my laptop, dvd player and a suitcase to carry it in. I found it about 10:30 at night so called the police etc and the landlord secured the door etc and went home. The police came round and we discovered blood everywhere...so they told me not to touch anything and sent forensics in the next day.

About 2am that night, the police raided next doors house [including ramming the door], I was by this point totally freaked out and rang the police again. About an hour later they came round asking if the laptop and dvd and suitcase next door was mine! And it was of course.

The forensics came round and said there was more blood in my house than at many murder scenes. Eugh. They did their stuff and I had to clear it up myself. I was told to use gloves [gosh - good idea!], and when I got the stuff back a week later, there was blood all over that as well. I chucked the suitcase out obviously...

I moved out not that long afterwards, but the neighbour had apparently got in with the wrong sort and the rozzers had been watching the house for weeks. Strange they didn't see them breaking in to mine then...but anyway.

They guy apparently admitted to about 20 counts of robbery and drugs dealing - the only thing he wouldn't agree to was my burglary...and they never caught the friend whose blood it was.

                Freaky.

Now there's a thought Lynda One of my sons-in-law is a big hunky Fireman! Better get him to bring some of his mates over.

Been over to have another look, can't open the door, something's jamming it but I can sort of see inside the shed. Broken glass and stuff in a muddle, canes scattered all over. The base of the shed has come away partly from the sides and is a bit twisted, but I think it might be possible with some brute force and strong arms to get it upright again. No other sheds look tampered with, and I can't see any damage to my plot. At least there's still some cabbages and sprouts there, but the mindless idiots who do these sort of things probably wouldn't recognise them as valuable (to me) food!

I know from first hand experience how bloody awful you feel after something like that has happened, especially something so personal as your lottie and the things you use to help it to grow. The only consolation i can give is that you and your nearest and dearest were not up there and got hurt trying to stop these numptees, my brother ploughed in over Christmas when someone was trying to vandalise his car and is now in hospital. Sheds can be put back up, tools sorted, crops replanted, chin up and don't let them get the final fingers up at you by stopping you do something you obviously love.

Maureen, so sorry. What a wretched thing to happen. Have a little sniffle, let yourself feel a little angry, and then pop your chin back up and get it sorted out. You sure don't deserve it, and I'm ever so sorry that it's happened to you.

Andrea - very freaky story! You must have been very spooked.

What a pity birching was ever banned. Mind you, you'd have to catch the little so and so first and then some do gooder would say it infringed their human rights or something. Hope you get it sorted out soon Maureen. Keep those positive New Year thoughts otherwise the morons win. XXX

Thank you everybody. I've had my rant and rave, didn't quite kick the cat or chuck a chook down the garden, shed a few tears, and now I'm going to slob on the sofa again cos my Mum-flu's still not better. You're right, all of you, the bastards aren't going to win! Once the shed's back in place and mended I've still got lots of seeds to sow, weeds to pull out, potatoes to order, and magazines to read. Hopefully before too much longer we'll have the site security sorted out and we can all start enjoying the fruits of our labours again.

In a way I'm really glad that these yobs haven't a clue where real food comes from. My veggies don't grow inside plastic bags with labels on; mine hide under a good coating of soil keeping them fresher and tastier than the stuff from supermarkets, McD's and similar places, and I'll only share it with deserving people like my friends and family
