  • You know you're sad...

...when you go to watch the England game at the weekend, and spend at least half of it wondering if you can find the grounds-keeper and ask him what he does to the pitch to keep it looking so smooth and lovely...

    Very politically correct Grounds- Keeper!
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

      What else are they called?

My OH wants to make patterns on the lawn like they do on footy pitches!

I've got a doctor friend who wants to do stripes on the lawn. He has a dog, a rabbit and a 7 year old. I've told him to stop dreaming!!

My Job title is Grounds Officer or Groundsman and I used to belong to the Institute of Groundsmanship. Please don't mention the sexist aspesct, I caused quite a stir with the organisation when my daughter picked up on it many moons ago!!!

Been called quite a few things (especially from tresspassers) but never a grounds-keeper..... Has a certain ring to it though I must admit

Buy a lawnmower with a roller on the back...go back and forward up and down the lawn..its only the knapp of the grass that gives it the striped effect. If you want a green tartan effect, just go in two directions at 90 degrees to each other.

            There you are, you're a grounds-keeper! Wallah!
