Looks like my suggestion has already been done i.e. get some 3rd party to approach the council for a 'vacant plot'. I wonder if this was a fault of the paper, this time? I would hope that the journalist themselves could shed some light (no pun intended!!). I saw the bit in Feb's GYO. Looks like they'll need an update!

Councils always lie................cover up their own mistakes, blame others, a does not talk to b. Its bad. Newspaper should do an article on their misrepresentations..........

Its ridiculous that you have to go to these lengths........

Tricky I think if we took a poll of the Grapes to see who thinks their local Council is competent, honest, and not a bunch of toss*rs, how many would be voting positively? Do not lose your rag over a bunch of numpties, you have so many people on your side, do not lose support because you lose your temper! Keeping fingers crossed everything goes smoothly.

I like that - sums up the way I try to think of people and their actions when something is a bit 'testing' - but nicely put!

Just had a phone call from Len Foster himself as promised
He has no idea who gave permission for the article to be published
He is annoyed about the article and he is passing it on to a public relations director
He allso was misinformed thinking i had a plot to which i put him straight that i was not accepting the plot due to the small size
I think somone is finally listening

that's excellent news, i am so glad you got to speak to him first hand, maybe he will look into it himself now instead of delegating.

Just caught up with this and it seems ay a time when things may hopefully be coming to a satisfactory conclusion for you tricky (fingers crossed of course). My experience with local councils is often a case of left hand often doesn't even know right hand exists, let alone what it's doing!

                      Good luck dude.

I used to work for a council (Brighton) and everyone I worked with was good at their job, and were nice people to boot.

It's the system that is hopelessly bureaucratic and antiquated. Computers broke down, mail went to the wrong dept, etc. We just always had too much work to do in not enough time (like everyone else, huh?)

I had the envious task of being Complaints Officer ... everyone who phoned me up thought I would be thick and they could swear at me ...

I am new to this forum but have read all the entries and also the article re your good self in this months Grow Your Own. You have really every right to feel so bloomin angry about how you have been treated, why don't you point out to the council that not only do they have an oligation to provide you with a plot but also they have an obligation to ensure that you have support to enable you to get better and that your allotment was enabling you to do this.
Please take someone with you as a calming influence and you have all these wonderful supporters on the above blogs that are totally behind you. I really hope it goes well for you take care, you deserve to get your plot back.
