Only -1 here. MH we had our boiler done by warmfront 2 years ago and they didn't put any thermostat valves on any of the radiators either, i thought they were supposed to be helping people keep warm efficiently, so was puzzled by this. Just going to check on my dial as well but think oh might have done it already. Nothing worse than being cold glad you are now toasty.

I guess they have to do the job as cheaply as possible. Radiator thermostat valves are about £11 each I think. You should have the option of having them though, and paying the excess.
Are you up to fitting some yourself?

according to the Met, Benson was the coldest place in Britain last night at -12
...and the coldest recorded temperature in England & Wales since 1991.
Was -7 yesterday morning when we set off for the hospital at 6:30, was a balmy 0 degrees this morning when we set of for the doctors at about 8:40. Our close is still like an ice rink though.
Greenhouse thermometer records down to -8 and its below that, for last night.
I dont know how cold it is but when I was up in the loft I had wrapped a towel round a steaming hot pipe and it was soaked in very hot water. I threw it outside the loft, and within 20 minutes it had actually frozen solid and was stuck to the wall. Unreal.

Why were you going to the hospital at 6.30? Not NIGGLY TWINGES is it?
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there
it's snowing again, and i have to go to the chemist, so i think i'll get a thermometer while i'm in town ........ all i can say is it's f*&^%$£ freezing...... i may relent and put the heating on for an hour today
It must have been warmer last night as the boiler didn't go on at 4am like it did the night before. Woke us all up with the clanking pipes.
The boiler is in the garage and the frost thingie sets it of if it gets too cold.
