I was looking at applying for a customer adviser role in the gardening dept. and wondered what the job entails? I didn't really want to work on a checkout and this role seemed like it was more focused on helping customers finding what they want and providing information on those products in that particular dept?

I just looked on their website. Does this help: B&Q - Customer Advisor pageAll gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.

I used to work for B&Q, and I enjoyed it, I only left when I was offered a better office job...
As far as I can remember, the gardening boys never went on checkouts! There was a lot of lifting involved, and they are often outside, but they were knowledgeable, and did a lot of customer-focussed work in terms of advice and product finding

My daughter's a section manager at a B&Q and loves it! Plenty of training for those who want it, good discounts etc. A Granddaughter used to work in the gardening section, but sad to say, like a lot of teenagers, she wasn't really interested in the job or its prospects and opportunities so just did the minimum work for the minimum wage. I wouldn't mind working in the gardening section part time during the week, mornings only (don't want much do I ). After all, they do take on "older" members of societyMy girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there
