  • Got a Garmin?

    I need some help please....

I am on a top fruit pruning course soon and need to find the way there! I kinda kniow the way but am a little rusty at some of the junctions.

Garmin Nuvi says motorway , but I want to use the country lane route- how do I get the garmin to follow the route that I can see on my UK road atlas?????

    Its a nuvi 765T ( I think)

I don't know about Garmin, but on our TomTom when you programme the route in, it then gives you the option "avoiding motorways". I'd imagined they all had that feature...

HF, just a quick google on your system, and the following page lists "route avoidance" as an option

        * Route avoidance (avoid motorways, tolls etc.)

        So I'd guess you can.

On ours (Navman), you have to go into Preferences (or it might be Options) and you can change the types of roads you prefer.
Or alternatively, if you set off on the country road way, won't it just adapt the route for the road you're on? (Although it could try and re-route you to the motorway the whole journey )

oh yes I can remove motorways, that's great - thanks

                  Part 2
I have the atlas here and I can see my route, through small villages and using the lanes. So, how do I get sat nav to use the lanes? it just wants to take me along main roads....boring

Sounds to me like you don't need the Sat.Nav!

Program it, then just follow the route you want, and it will re-adjust as you go and help you out for the last bit - at least, that's what I do with my TomTom.

                    Good luck.
