  • God Bless, God Rest Aunty Flo

On Friday while I was at work, I received an email from my sister telling me that my Aunty Flo was very ill in hospital. She had some sort of perforation in her stomach and was not expected to last long.

Aunty Flo was 95 bless her, apart from being as deaf as a door post for quite a few years, she still had her wits very much about her right to the end! I got a call from sister on Sunday afternoon to say Aunty Flo had passed away in the early hours of that morning!

Aunty Flo was one of eight children, she was the eldest of the 6 girls and had 2 brothers who passed away years ago. Aunty Flo now goes to join them and 2 of her sisters and other family members who had also passed away a few years ago! There is one hell of a family reunion waiting for you Aunty Flo. Say hi to my Dad for me, bless you go enjoy it!!

Thankfully Aunty Flo had her family around her at all times and was well loved! She was always at my cousin house for dinner or had her children and grandchildren going to visit her!

Dear God. You have known me and loved me from the first moment of my life. Now you are with me at the time of Aunty Flo's death. Thank you for always being with me. I know you will receive Aunty Flo into your presence and care for her eternally. Give our family strength and comfort as we let go of Aunty Flo and she moves into your hands. Let us be assured that one day we will meet again. In faith and love we commit Aunty Flo to you who are eternal love.

    Love you miss you.
    God Bless/God Rest Aunty Flo

They made them tough in those days - 95 is a wonderful age. She must have had a very full life and can no doubt tell some tales in the next!

I often put my thoughts in writing! It is nice to know that I can jott my thoughts down to help we work things through! Not just with things like loosing a much love aunt but any given thing that might take a bit of working through!

You know what the best thing is though? Its having a place like this with great people that can be there for you and offer words of support and encouragement! Thanks soo much for your messages!

Aunt Flo was a tough lady very much the matriarch of the family! She did have a very full life and yes full of stories to tell! As I said she was the oldest of the 6 girls, my mum is the youngest, my nan died when my mum was just a teeager. My Aunt Flow did not have a second thought about raising my mum, between her and the other sisters they did a great job with my mum! I know that because when she was well my mum was a great mum! I have my aunt Flo to thank for that. She was quite a lady!!! I'm gona miss the old girl!!

Thanks once more to all of you lovely people on here for your messages!
              Much love to all!!
