  • CRAP! Spinal Malfunction.

As some of you already know I suffer from quite a lot of back pain after breaking my neck and spine in an accident several years ago. I was out in the garden today with the two hounds. Not doing anything in particular just pottering about.

All of a sudden I hear Phoebe (5 month old Basset) screaming and a hollering. I looked up to see that she had stuck her head through the trellis fence that seperates the veg. plot from the rest of the garden and had got it stuck. As I was running (well a sort of fast waddle) to her rescue I slipped on the path, went A over T and landed flat on my back. The pain was instantanious.

I had to crawl over to Phobe and break a piece off of the fence in order to get her out. It has taken me an age to get back into the house. With luck huge doses of my old friend, industrial strength Ibuprofen will calm things down soon but at present I'm in b%$£dy agony.

    Oh what fun.

Oh poor snuffer! Backs are a b*ggar aren't they. I think once you have some weakness there there's always the potential for trouble later on. Poor old (well, ok, young)HeyWayne is having problems too. I do hope the ibuprofen kicks in soon and that you haven't caused any more damage. Good luck.

Why dont you contact your gp and get checked out, you could have injured yourself! I hope you feel better soon, maybe putting up some chicken wire over the fence will stop the dog getting her head stuck.

Given your history, I wouldn't take any chances and get it checked out. I'm so paranoid about my back after my accident, I still hoover on my knees!! Remember, Tramadol is your friend - weeeeee!!*

*disclaimer, I don't take it anymore, but I do remember being very happy on it!!

Many sympathies, I hope it gets better soon. How we panic when we hear a child or puppy scream!!

Snuffer, I feel your pain too... There's nothing like that moment of sucked in breath, when you know you've done something ba-a-a-ad, just before the plain slams you...
Hope the 'brufen helps, but you should probably get the Dr out with a better prescription if it doesn't - tramadol, dihydracodeine & diclofenac all reside in my med cupboard to deal with back 'breakdown' !
