I can't believe you lot, sometimes you just don't se the obvious, can't you see that this man was just leading janeyo up the garden path.

Oh, and vicky while I'm having a funny five, why do we say 'go in the garden' when from most peoples perspective it will be viewed from the house so will therefore be outside.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

Think you are right about the status thing, my next door neighbour 'gardens' in kitten heels and marigolds, she picks at things as she walks around her 'estate', it isn't big atall.
We call her Margo cause she is so her, she also has a 'Jerry' that she bosses around, her garden is there to show off, with her sculptures of cute cherubs and white wire gazebo thingys.
She was getting very vexed the other day because there were birds in her garden and they might mess on the conservatory roof!! Wildlife outside, heaven forbid.
Our garden is full of recycling boxes, dogs toys, bird feeders, plants and until i got my plot veggies in tubs.
We actually over heard her saying to one of her cliche that it was like living next to a chanty town!!
I love the garden and enjoy seeing all the critters that come into it, all my plants and flowers have either been grown by me or are special presents for birthdays, anniversaries or from children i have taught over the years, it has grown with me and it is my retreat from stress and grotty people.
I think it is sad when people aren't able to enjoy it for what it is.
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. ~Author Unknown

The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.
