I am a compulsive nibbler. Only way to lose weight is to have lots of low-calorie nibbles in the house, mainly fruit (including tomatoes).
The other mainstay of my dieting efforts is fizzy water. I will never drink really large amounts of tap water, but the bubbles make all the difference, and when I get through 3 pints or so of water in a day, I seem to lose weight.
I'm not aware of eating less (probably do) but it seems to have some effect!
I could do with losing... a LOT of weight, but realistically a stone by Easter would be an achievement, half a stone would be 'a small step in the right direction'.
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
Had a chip type weekend - meal at pub Friday night, fish & chips Sat lunch, Pizzas (home made though and no chips!) on Sunday evening. All birthday celebrations now officially over - no more prevaricating! I WILL LOSE 7LB BY EASTER!
Flummery...I shall join you as a late starer! For one reason or another this last week hasn't been the ideal start...but from now on Bye~Bye nibbles...& bye~bye that horrible weighty feeling around my chin!
the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.
Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.xx
I am also joining today as last week was awful n i had no motivation for anything!
Don't know how much i weigh as i don't own scales and thus am not able to say how much i want to lose, so i will be measuring by clothes size/inches.
So, todays eats...
B - Porridge + Tea (half sugar)
L - Chicken sandwich (on wholemeal) + packet of squares (crisps) + Tea
D - Chicken noodle soup (homemade with loadsa veggies).... and probably more tea!
I'l prob snack on some grapes too at some point... i don't mean you guys!!
I'm going to join in even though I'm growing Sweetpea. Obviously, I'm not going to lose weight, and will eat dead sensibly, but I want to watch what I eat a wee bit so I don't have to much extra to lose after giving birth!
So!
B - porridge with Carnation milk (it's a childhood thing)
Snack - two slices of toast with Marmite
L - leftover paneer saag from last night
D - will be the rest of the curry leftovers; chicken jalfrezi and lentil dahl. All homemade so quite good!
There will be snacks too. Probably more toast and a handful of dry cereal (don't like milk)
Is nobody else doing any exercise?
I biked to lotty & shops today (30 mins) and dug brambles out for 30 mins.
2 lattes, jammy toast no butter, pasta & beans, beanburger & rice, lots of veg from freezer.
I haven't weighed myself again yet, but I bet I've lost a pound - I feel healthier already

Not at the moment...I'm stuck in front of a computer until the 28th as there's an audit on one of my customer's training logs...so I'm preparing that for them. Once that's out of the way, I'll be able to get to the lottie again...We did loads over Christmas though...digging, clearing, carrying, biking...but now it's back to work for a while.
Yesterday bacon butties for breakfast, very very bad - but then a walk to the next village, around 80 minutes so made up for the breakfast a little, and half an hour or so digging at the lottie. Dinner was roast chicken, roasties, carrots, parsnips and broccolli with half a bottle of white wine (OH had the other half) so again not too good.
Today, got up for work too late for breakfast, bad again. Lunch was ham sandwich and dinner will be leftover chicken and bacon risotto - I'll try to make sure OH gets nearly all the bacon though.
Rhona - how do you make your lentil dhal? No matter what I do, my OH says mine is nowhere near as good as his dad used to make, so always looking for suggestions
Life may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance

Well, not so bad, as long as your portions aren't huge. Grill or microwave your bacon instead of frying, and have ketchup instead of butter.
Roast chicken .. cut off the skin. Dry roast your spuds, steam your veggies... that's really not a bad meal.

TS - I go for a walk every day with pram (with baby in it...) for about an hour - and I'm a very fast walker, not a stroller - so that's my exercise.
moggsue - the dahl I make is a recipe from the Cinnamon Club. It always gets loads of compliments - really yummy!
Onion/ginger/garlic - finely chopped and cooked until soft in oil
Fenugreek seeds
Puy lentils
Sultanas
Dried chili
Tomato puree
Garam Masala
Sugar
Butter
Yoghurt
Boil some water to cover lentils by the same volume again, add onion/garlic/ginger; lentils; sultanas; chili and fenugreek. Simmer until lentils are soft, checking if you need more water. When they are very soft but still a little water left (needs a sauce), add about a tablespoon of tomato puree and the garam masala. Add black pepper, sugar and salt to taste (needs to be a little sweet), then stir through yoghurt and butter until all lovely and mixed in. If you want it to be GORGEOUS, then don't skimp on the butter. The recipe does call for quite a lot, but it gives it the most amazing nutty flavour. I use about one (very) thick slab of it. Sometimes more...
Sorry - I haven't given quantities - I never weigh or measure, but two handfuls of lentils will be loads for two people. It always makes more than I expect!
I had a yoghurt and some grapes and a big plum at breakfast, a sandwich made of one round of home made bread folded over (half what I usually have) for lunch and We're having a home made curry for tea. (with chard in - I like a saggy thingie!)
Snacked on more grapes and another plum when I got in - tempted to eat bread and butter or toast after T'ai Chi but I've been good (cos I have to confess to you lot!)
