OHHHH yes pleaseI just need something to follow, every thing I see in magazines including the one in the cook vegetarian mag is soooo expensive when you have two people not wanting or having to diet.

I'm starving [well, very hungry].
The worst bit about the weigh in is making dinner for the OH, and not able to eat it until after I get back - which is usually 6:30 ish. It wouldn't matter on any other night as I could drink plenty of water to make up for it...but you can't do that just before a weigh-in.
So, Tuesdays around this time, I'm pretty grumpy. The jacket spuds are in t'oven and smell lovely, and my egg mayo is made and in the fridge.
Jackie - my OH has lost a stone since I went on SW...he gets the same as I get and if he wants more/different he makes it.Last edited by zazen999; 11-02-2009, 08:23 AM.

OH needs to loose a lot of weight he just adds more if I cut down the size of his portions. I need to exercise more as I can leave chocs, biscuits etc most of the time. I think I might join weight watchers or something. Would love to go walking more but not on my own.Gardening ..... begins with daybreak

Walked the dog.
Had porridge for brekky for the first time in 20 odd years (bought it for the Chooks but thought I'd try it). Quite nice lol.
Mucked-out the Neddy.
Nearly killed myself at the Gym (first visit) 10 mins on bike (fast) 25 mins on treadmill (various speeds/inclines). Drank loads of water then went to the sauna, steam room and aromatherapy room, and finished with lovely powerful hot shower!
Felt like a new woman, but the same fat moose looked back at me from the mirror - except this time she had a face like a beetroot lol!
Came home and had half a tin of beans on toast with cheese.
Walked the dog again, and now his loveliness (no not the dog) is concocting something yummy for dinner (leftover chicken and ?) and I'm starving.
Back to Gym tomorrow...

porridge - pennies
apples - £1 a bag
kidney beans/lentils/chickpeas - about 60p a bag
rice/pasta/spuds in moderation ... cheap as chips
tinned toms for sauces - 30p a tin
veggies ... free from your allotment
I am a veggie, but I only buy Quorn or nutburgers if they are BoGoF.
Mr Sheds eats meat, but I buy it reduced, make a big batch and freeze it (he likes stews, which are superb for using cheap meat, lots of veggies and beans and are CHEAP!Last edited by Two_Sheds; 11-02-2009, 08:03 AM.All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.

Bought veg are cheap as well, if you have access to a market. Buy in season to reduce costs AND food miles.
Filling up on fruit and veg is probably the simplest option.
The 'diet killer' food in this house is CHEESE. It's nice, it has lots of nutritional value, but it is VERY easy to eat a LOT of calories in next to no time.
For cooking purposes, buy the strongest cheese you can find and USE LESS.
If you cut down/out high-fat foods, and minimise the sugary ones, then it all comes down to quantities......
(says she who can't put it into practice!!)
Preparing veg takes time. It is time well spent, but can take just that bit of mental energy you can't always find. Dietary habits of others in the home can be a complication.Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

A portion is only matchbox size, would you believe. So we tend to use it as a topping/garnish only. All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.

I'm hoping to have a better day, with less snacking (only within my points),
2 weetabix with skimmed milk
turnip soup, with low fat yog in instead of cream with a piece of bread
pitta bread with quorn marinated in some concoction OH made up last night.
Might need a glass of wine to go with it as I am observing the cooking for a change... Will use that as a snack.
