I can't see how you could interfere with the timing on the wipers SBP. Good luck and hope it is easily sorted.

Still waiting for the 'eureka moment' HW!

@STG43 I don't see either, but I try for the Sherlock Holmes school of logic...eliminate the impossibilities and then whatever is left however improbable must be the problem!

The wipers are on a spline, if the spline is worn some big butch wiltshire maid ripping the wipers off her vehicle may have caused the wipers to move slightly, slacken the nut holding the wiper and move the wiper up slightly , tighten the nut and see if the blades catch if they do repeat process if they work alright make sure the nut is tightened properly as the can move again if loose.

OY!!! Cheeky! Just cos I said I needed to lose a few pounds....FYI they used to catch before and for some reason stopped...

Well it looks like I'll be losing the pounds at the garage! I'm okay putting a new battery, bulbs, blades in...but messing with nuts! Okay PaulW I'm going outside.....I may be some little time! (Nah. I'm just going out to have a look, cos I couldn't see anything 'nut-like' on the blade arm before, I think it may have a cap over it?)

PAULW mate, you are a genius of Sherlock Holmesian proportions!!!!

I went out and took off the little rubber caps, underneath each was a shiny metal nut! The one on the long drivers blade arm was slightly loose, so I tightened it....switched the wipers on...THEY NOW WORK!!!! I am over the moon! Thanks a million!!!

Edit - if you fancy trying some unusual chillies/toms/aubergines seeds let me know, I've got a fair few.

Gawd what a forum, we even do car repairs now!

Must sell my shares in Haynes Car Manuals, they ain't going to be worth a light if this gets out.
I am certain that the day my boat comes in, I'll be at the airport.
