Well, *wipes tiny but happy tear from corner of eye* here it is!

The shed is brilliant - really sturdy and secure locks (although apparently no problems really with breaking in). The plot's not huge but it's just the right size for us.

I'm going to order artichoke plants - I've been dreaming of growing them for years! Thinking of having a couple of raised beds, and little greenhouse (swoon) next to shed.

Sooo excited!

Catches quickly so you don't hurt yourself in the swoon and it even has your first raised bed in the art deco sytle of a wheelbarrow

Hi Rhona, its such a good feeling to have your own allotment is'nt it. I had mine on Nov 1st. I was absolutely thrilled (and horrified to see the mess the previous owner had left). Being so late in the year I know that I had to clear it all away before I could do any digging but hey ho - hard graft never hurt anyone - even tho I am only able to get in there at weekends until the day gets lighter. Hubby and I have worked all hours available over crimbo and newyear back and forth to the recycle yard with glass, rotten plastic,rusty buckets and rotten wood. The neighbours say its the first time in 3 yrs that the plot looks cared for, and we have'nt even dug it over yet. Because its 200sq mtrs I shall have to cultivate in small sections - its covered with bindweed, couch AND marestail. I am clearing about 2 yds at a time - so back breaking but I am determined to get it clean and productive again. I can see you have a lovely little plot which looks moderately clean - enjoy and you will be rewarded in time.

Would you like to save yourself the cost of the artichoke plants? I've got a few seeds of two varieties that I sowed last year in early Feb and got lovely plants from them.

Invest in a lovely little camping stove, a whistling kettle and a comfy chair or 2 and you can spend all day there
