  • Full moon frenzy

Having read some of the threads today I thought I would point out that today is a full moon (in Pisces for anyone who gardens astrologically) and there will be a partial eclipse tonight.

Does that mean we will all settle down a little in a couple of days time?

PS I am not having a go at anyone.

The word LUNATIC doesn't come from nothing but from Luna (latin for moon). There has to be an association between mad behaviour and the phases of the moon or the notion could not persist. All my own experience says the LOONIES are madder than ever when the moon is full - and there is a considerable body of research to support this( Calls to the emergency services; emergency admissions to psychiatric hospitals; visits to GP's with emotional upsets etc) Can't say what the causal mechanism, or association, is but it undoubtedly exists. Watch out folks ! There's a great big beauty out there tonight.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

Earthbabe, you comments about wind and furry bits always presnt here, I have a gut feeling it won't calm down.

Squirrel... I'm always nosey to find out the answer to general triva... from answers.com:
"Raison et al. put forward the interesting hypothesis that the phase of the moon may in the past have had an effect on bipolar patients by providing light during nights which would otherwise have been dark, and affecting susceptible patients through the well-known route of sleep deprivation"

Who know's if it's the real cause, but a good one to drop into a coversation at the pub over a pint eh?

You could maybe quote that after a pint or two, I certainly couldn't!

Just goes to show that full moons make you even brainier than you were before!

Speaking of full moon - it was very very bright one last night. Had a peep out through the curtains in the early hours and it actually hurt my eyes it was so bright!

Squirrel I didn't mean settle down as get boring, just be a little less tetchy with each other. I see I shall have to be more specific with my wording in future. Will check the calendar in kitchen and post dates of full moons for rest of year. Might make an interesting exercise.
