Obama does seem to have a believable and genuine air of sincerity, for a politician at least. His problem is that he will have to work with an inefficient and corrupt system
I'm not drawn in to Obamamania - or anything else. I've no great respect for politicians of any persuasion. BUT, since we have to have them I think this fellow looks streets ahead of what went before and the present competition.
I say again - I wish him well and every success.
What else is there
From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.
I can't wait for tomorrow...I'm Canadian by birth and have a huge draw to the States [born close to Niagara Falls], so really excited. I'm hoping he sorts the exchange rate out by Easter as we're back over there soon afterwards. [It's a big ask, but you've got to look forward not back].
Been all round the Niagara area Zazzen, both sides of the border - just gorgeous and loved it (loved Canada).
But Obama has a lot to do. I think sorting the exchange rate for you might be pretty far down the line . Well, I would hope he had other priorities.

I think there's a lot of people who want him to fail - whether its a race thing or not i don't know, but i for one hope he is a man of his word and proves all his critics wrong.
I hope people are prepared to give him a chance. Wouldn't it be nice to have a world leader you feel hopeful about?
I really wish him well for the future, and hope he is able to keep to his election promises. America and the world needs a leader to look up to if that is possible.
Believe it or not, some authorities were worried that no-one would vote for him because his name sounded like Osama. Thankfully, they were proved wrong!
Am toyin with the idea of leaving early to watch the ceremony, but not sure I can.
Oh and I was mildy excited by Ken Clarke returning to politics, too. Not as excited as when Duran Duran got back together, mind.

I know...but just having him as President might just have an effect...I'm clutching at straws of course but I need to bring back as much cinnamon chewing gum as I can.
I'm very excited about his inaugeration. I feel hopeful and not all cynical. I think to mutter and grumble about inevitable corruption etc. is to detract from what is a momentous and positive event - and not just for the States.
At least let's try to start from a place of hope and change. I think that's his message too...
We are having a presidential elect party this afternoon, to celebrate the mst powerful man in the world.
I was watching Bush's property being taken out of the whitehouse, some weird looking items........
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
