Are we our parents?

My OH accused me today of being like my mother!!! I was horrified lol. I then started to think about what he said. I realise now that when speaking to the kids, includes OH, that I do sound like my mother.........shock, horror, I ALWAYS vouched I would never be like her, always going to be me

As we get older do other grapes notice they are more like their parents?

Yep. I'm a lot like my mother. Very similar to look at (she looks about 15 years younger than she is so fingers crossed for the future!); very similar personality; and love GYO! Hasn't always been that way, but it's spooky how like her I'm becoming - Mr R comments on it quite frequently (mostly that I'm becoming a wee bit eccentric).

I don't mind all becoming like her - she's one of the kindest, nicest people with such a good heart, and brilliant fun too. So I'd choose to be like her anyway if I could!

I am becoming more like my mother in a physical way, my mannerisms and my stance. Not sure about in other ways; she was a very very good cook. I'm not, but I married one - I didn't marry my father, I married my Ma!

Have always been a bit worried about becoming my mum and OH sometimes complains that I can be a bit like her. However, the way she has been behaving recently over a family issue (really not one for mentioning in detail on here) makes me far more confident that I'll never be totally like her which in both mine and OH's view is a good thing. Never had the chance to meet OH's dad but he's very different to his mum even though both of them are fab.

Yes, I think we become more like our mothers. I look in the mirror and see myself more like her everyday - mind, she was a very good looking woman, don't think I'll ever be as good looking as that.
In some other ways I am very like her, but in other ways I have vowed I never will be.
I think there is more in our genes than we would like to think.

I try to convince myself that that's my middle sis's job!!
I told DD off the other day for sitting with her knees in her jumper...I've never so quickly switched my mind & rapidly told her...actually...no probs!!!...I'm sitting now with my knes tucked up under my jumper & O.K it may be a little baggy...but it's lasted over 10 years,so can't have done that much harm!

I wouldn't mind ending up like my Mum, but although I look like her (except fatter ), I'm actually a lot more like my Dad... Not where I wanted to go I just hope I manage to refrain from driving the kids out of their home at the age of 17....
(Although in the interests of fairness I should add that he has mellowed with age & tries to be helpful these days )

I am like my mum in many ways and I can hear her say things and they are the same as me if that makes sense. I am always being called Anne ( my late sister ) my other sister sees her reflection in shop windows and thinks ' there's jack ' then relises its her lol. When I was on the beach with my sister and her OH in the summer people that know them thought I was her when she had popped off somewhere, My bil thinks its great having two wives lol good job I have known him for 46 years. My niece thinks we sound alike and as sisters we say the same things, or we say things that we know the other one would say.
