Do any grapes use Oil to fire their central heating. I have been told that it has the same properties as parrifin and can be used in Greenhouse heaters but is only 40p Lit.....much cheaper than Parrifin.

We have oil fired heating but we get it delivered by 1000 litres - not sure how to get it per litre (my neighbours wanted extra in drums but the delivery chap was not allowed to put it in them)...and it might cost quite a bit more if you bought in such small quantities. Never heard of it being used in greenhouse heaters, sorry!

I think it is the same as the old Tractor Vapourising Oil (TVO) that they Used to run the old Parafin tractors on a little bit thicker than normal parafin..jacob..Last edited by jacob marley; 20-01-2009, 08:16 PM.What lies behind us,And what lies before us,Are tiny matters compared to what lies Within us ...

There's different grades of burning oil I found out when my oil boiler stopped working just after a delivery. The heating guy told me to ring the oil company to make sure they'd delivered the correct stuff before he came out. A mate of mine you'st to run his tractor on CH oil and that worked OK. I don't know if it will work the other way round though, it may just make lots of smoke, I wouldn't try lighting it in the house.I you'st to have a handle on the world .. but it BROKE!!
