I was on the allotment digging today and my mind wandered (as it does) to one of those big 'Meaning of Life' questions.
If I'm digging say 18 inches down into the soil, why do I never come across slugs, only worms and millipede type thingies? I understood slugs live underground - do they all slither under the paths when they hear my fork thud on the soil or do they just hide until we plant some new veg- so where do they go to my lovely?? Has anybody seen them??
