  • Are you a serial mover or a stayputter?

    Moving house I mean?

I have moved quite a lot I think, but have come back to the same place.
Lived in the fens (2 houses) til went to uni in wales, then lived in france for a year, then moved to Northampton to do PGCE, the lived in Peterborough, the came back to the fens and have lived in 4 houses in 7 years.

Think OH might shoot me if I said I wanted to move again.... I guess I just get itchy feet.
Can't see me moving fromt he fens again with all my family here too I'm kind of drawn here like a magnet not even sure I would want to follow OH if work demanded it. But we would both like to live abroad (again for me).

How about you guys? Movers or stayputters - not sure piskie should answer!

definitely a stayputter, only way I would move is I was offered a house with a much bigger garden and they offered to pay to have my loft emptied.

Hmm, Lived in three countries went to 7 schools and in the last 8 years lived in 7 houses/flats (The one I'm in now, I've lived in for 3 years)

Does that qualify as a mover?

When I married I moved down the street from the house in which I was born. After 13 years we moved next door to the house that I was born in. My parents still live in that house.
We moved as my OH wanted a bigger garden for a workshop. The garden is about a quater of an acre in size. The workshop is the size of a double garage, the veg garden isn`t very big at the moment but hopefully it will be huge by the time we`ve finished. And we are in the process of building a huge greenhouse.
We don`t plan to move as the house and garden have lots of potential.

I am definately a mover (and a shaker....)
I can't stay in the same place too long, there is so much more in the world to discover.
I was born in Hong Kong and have lived in lots of different places in England, Two different places in Germany and now in France. I recently discovered that there is a French school in Pondicherry, India - that is starting to look like our next move. Must finish this house though first...............
Thankfully Mr T feels the same!

                      If I count from little:
                      7 before I was 8 (Zimbabwe)
another 10 til was 28 (South Africa)
                      another 7 here

Hoping that I now have moving outa my system! (Saying that though, have just emptied the loft )

Fingers crossed though, No intention of moving at the moment

                          I sure am.
Why move when your dog/babysitter lives next door, it`s quite a nice village. It still has a post office, two pubs, shops, very good high school in the next village which my son goes to.(one of the top 10 in Leicestershire). It even has an industrial estate, where I work from. And we even have a duck pond.
