    i'd never dream of looking for pork brain tumour nicos ..... thanks for the warning though *shakes head*

    when we were kids there were no such thing as use by dates ...... if it looked off the dog got it .... if it didn't we did ....... so much simpler in those days

      Yeah, I remember those days. Most of us could tell whether it was fit to eat....
      Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

        I can tell with vegetables, cheese and milk, but because I don't eat meat myself I can't tell if it's off

          Make a curry or chillie with it...........either way you'll never be able to taste if it's slightly off! Should be tender if nowt else!

            are you both still alive after eating it? No tummy upsets? I wouldnt have eaten it.....(pulls face thinking of what the pork sausage looked like 2 days old)

                When i go to see my mum she has all sorts of things in her fridge that are well by the sell by date and if i say anything i get, when i was a girl during the war you would have been glad of that, i don't bother anymore she is as fit as a fiddle and approaching eighty so i leave her to it. Fruit of my.. though throws things out at the drop of a hat even if it is the same day, cause you never know!! One generation to another total extremes. family eh?

                  Nice try then eh?
                  We do tend to get hung up on dates. When they weren't provided we sniffed, scraped, guessed - but we're still here. Glad you're not up on a manslaughter charge though!
