Mr Fox paid a visit last night!

Mr Fox (the local bad guy) decided to pay us a visit! He killed my son's guinea pig! I'm shocked at just how powerful these creatures are, he ripped the top off the run and got inside. Caught in the act with the guinea pig in his mouth which he promptly dropped and then freaked out trying to get out! Think it died from shock as there was nothing nasty to see on the poor thing!

btw, he didn't get through the wire (it's really strong stuff, not the normal chicken wire) he ripped the wood from the top, thick stuff it is. It was speciality built (12' x 12' x 4' deep)

A fox had three cubs under our shed three years ago, and I am pretty certain it was one of those that killed my 6 chooks on Tuesday. At this time of year they will hunt in broad daylight if they have cubs to feed.

Thats horrible for you all, we lost a rabbit early one morning and my sons saw it but that was a dog. The destruction and mess was horrible

That's terrible hope you can bury him and plant a little bush or something. We always did this as children when a pet died.

He was OK about it, but he's had a few animals and I've always explained it to him when they die and he knows about 'it being nature' so to speak.

Sorry to hear about the fox attack mrsc.

It must be the time of year foxes are 'out and about'. I am on a few chook forums and every day a fox has killed chickens in various areas. I respect the fox but don't know how I'd react if one got my chooks.

that's why i decided on a house bunny, cos one of the neighbours lost their guinea pig to the local fox, it ripped the door off
