She has said I am still welcome as a customer and she wouldnt like to loose me as we have supported her on a weekly basis since day one, and between us spend a lot of money. ( 4 adults and 5 kids plus any extras ). She said she will get back to me about it. I also said I didnt know what wages I was due I have worked over 27 hours but that isnt my main concern. Pay day is today apperently.
If the owner is nice, and just this shitty manager, you might get asked to go back if and when the manager leaves (or is sacked). If there is only one nasty person, don't let her get to you!

I had bad vibes about x when she first interviewed me tried to shrug it off but the more I am there the more I dont want to be. I think she feels threatened by me, I dont want her job or anything and am quite happy doing my own thing. I take orders very well as long as I am asked and not told in a way that is bad, I understand that it is her job to tell me what she wants me to do just dont patronise me. I will do anything for anybody.

Yay Good on you Jackie, it's their loss.

Somehow I suspect you won't be the first, or the last. Let's hope now you've told the owner what her manager is like, she'll realise what the problem is when the next victim ends up in the same position you did.

Good on you Jackie! No reason why you should put up with that sort of thing. Mind you, I have a similar boss - except that he's old and doesnt realise what he's doing, he has a terrible memory so I get the blame when he forgets to do things and he's the most pedantic, jobsworth, oldfashioned person I think I've ever met. I really hate it, but I cant afford to leave until I find something else - joke, in this climate with my 'skills' ....

So you go girl, you'll be much happier for it wont you. And more time to grow your own

i can fully sympathise with you jackie,a few years ago ,i went backout to work, after doing outdoor and raising the boys, the trouble is,the younger ones do feel threatened by us older ones, although we may know more than them about what we doing,we not want the responsibility,so are just happy to keep that back seat, any how i was ganged upon, even to the piont where the boss believed the other one,i was sent to coventry,as they say,i walked out in floods of tears, the next job i got was not made to feel welcome either,so walked away again, and thats how it stayed until i retired officially,i think there is more of goes on than people think, but it only seems be recognised as a problem when it involves school children,i wish i knew the answer, what goes around, comes around, ten fold,if my powers of thought have anything to do with it,makes my blood boil.

You poor thing Jackie, what an unpleasant experience. What goes around definately comes around - these bullies will get theirs in the end. I don't understand why people have to be like that. Can I assume that xxx has no children so possibly couldn't see things from your perspective? It was ageism too, absolutely.

Thing is the extra monies comes in handy but unless it is very well paid I do not blame you telling them to stuff it. Money is one thing but not if your treated like poo.

Give somepeople a sign on their door and the title of manager and they grow another head and transform into the b**tch queen from hell!
You are so right not to put up with being spoken to like that. No one deserves to be taken down by someone in a position of power, it is bullying pure and simple.
This person is obviously intimidated by your ability to do a cracking job dispite her best efforts to undermine you. You kept your calm, held your head high and i think should walk away and find somone who appreciates your wonderfully hard working work ethic, good luck, will be thinking of you. xx

Good for you Jackie! At least the owner understands. As has already been mentioned, maybe you will get your job back when the horrible manager has left! Hope things work out for you

Well done you for walking out. What worries me about situations like this is; suppose you hadn't been in a position to? Suppose you'd been a single parent or the only breadwinner of a family. You wouldn't have been able to walk out (no benefits if you quit your job) you'd have been stuck with the bullying. You were quite right to tell the owner, the person who fills your shoes might not be as 'lucky' as you and so be forced to put up with it, this person needs stopping now before anything like that happens.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.
