Thank god the RSPCA were more far sighted when they allowed us to become the willing servants of our little madam!
My beloved tabby had just passed away when one of the local hoodies turned up on the doorstep with a nine week old kitten he had bought as a present for his sister - it had been kept for a week in a house with two pitbull types and was terrified.
I wanted to say yes, so did my son but hubby said no. A week of weeping and door knocking couldn't find her until hubby passed an RSPCA van as he came home and found she had been taken in but was being passed on again. I was given 5 min to allow an inspection and was up to my armpits in frog slime at the time(cleaning out their aquarium). The inspector turned up,asked a few questions then handed the kitten to my then 10yr old and asked what he would call her. He didn't hesitate where upon the inspector said you have to keep her now she has a name.
I didn't have a big house or more importantly, a garden at the time but she has been happily ruling the roost for the last 4 1/2 yrs. I have also moved many times with cats and not lost one to date - the attitude towards you piskie and other service people seems perverse.
Everything crossed they appreciate you and you get your babies soon.
