You know what annoyed me the most? I was travelling to the lottie by car. When I got to one of the roundabouts a jam sandwich pulled in front of me with his blue light flashing. Traffic was stopped at other side of roundabout as well.
I thought it was maybe because a wide load was being brought up the road, but no!
It was about 20 buses full of Mackems with a police escort, in convoy and county cars clearing the road for them.
The cheaky red striped toe rags were hanging out the windows sticking the vee's up at us (I'm sure there was a few 'mooning' as well) stuck in traffic by the police to allow them to pass!

My two lads aren't back from the match yet..........I'd better get the iodine out!

Twasn't me - didn't go - glued to the box all afternoon & just logged on.

to coin a phrase game of 2 halves (& 1 referee)

Still think we were robbed because the penalty was the only way Newcastle were going to get back in the game, but they still didn't get any clear cut chances,

As for Chopra - I can see why he tried the pass, but if it had been the other way round, Jones would have shot.

As for the post match interview with Kinnear - he must have been watching a different game: -

"There were turning points in the game and I don't think - again - the big decisions have gone our way, but that's the way it is going for us at the moment. "

      &

"If you tackle somebody from behind and catch his leg then that's a guaranteed penalty," he told Sky Sports.

"I haven't seen the replay but what I saw was his legs being taken away from him. I would say it was a perfect penalty."

"I think they scored their goal against the run of play, but we showed remarkable courage to get back in the game," Kinnear added.

"Today was one of those days when most of the crucial decisions went against us, but nevertheless we showed some great character and we always looked the team that was going to win the game."

However - indicative of football today is that the referees will get talked about more - Mike Riley's performance at Liverpool v Chelsea was a disgrace as well - Lampard did not deserve a red card, & Basingwa should have got one (& then the linesman awarded a throw in)

Right - rant over - Snadger hope the lads are back OK

I hope your lads are back ok Snadger?
We used to live on the route back from Roker Park to the train station, when it was a local derby I wasn't allowed to play out after the final whistle, there was nearly always trouble of some sort, minor scuffles mostly, mounted police everywhere...
