Aw Shirley, you're lovely, you really are
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

This forum must be the nicest on the web.
I'd love to be able to knit (actually follow a pattern and do stitches other than purl/plain). What a lovely thing to do Shirley!

As far as I am aware the only knitting stitches are knit and purl. Aran just involves moving the stitches around and knitting them in a different order.

I can honestly say that i wouldn't have got through a particularly horrid time a couple of weeks back without the help of all the lovely grapes that sent their advice, kind words etc to me and also checked up on me afterwards, so yes Flum Grapes are lovely. xx

Flummery obviously has a thing for hats!

Now if we're talking seriously about hats, you need to ask Mrs Flummery about a bag of hair that she once received . . . . WOOF, WOOF, WOOF

I did attempt to follow a pattern and made a right pigs ear of it! Perseverence is they key then?

Now you mention it, Bilbo, do I recall that Flum has a talent in the spinning wheel department...?

What about 'Yarn forward increase' and 'knitting into the front and back of a stitch' and 'work 2 stitches together through the back of loop' They may not be stitches as such, but my brain is struggling to get to grips with them

Maybe we should have a Grapes craft seminar Shirley & Seahorse for knitting tips, Flum and Bilbo Waggins for quilting, Two_Sheds for soft furnishings and other stitchery, lots of other crafty peeps on here, it'd be grand

Glad it's not just me who finds knitting patterns written in some strange language.

Quilting seminar? Hmmm, suppose it would only be fair given how many questions I'm going to ask about chickens over the coming months.
