Least you get them though Piskie. I'm sure it will take a while but they will be fine eventually.
Just be prepared for this to happen every time you move though!!

Awww! They'll come to.When I got my cat several years ago(along with his sister)they spent their 1st 48hrs scuttling behind the oven every time we moved....2 days of no cooking!!...he turned into the soppiest cat going, not caring whos lap he snuggled up on.(he had a similar start to life being born to a ferrile(sc)cat that had never had human contact.)
and sorry to disagre Bob...I went on to move several times with him he took it all in his stride

Kittens are so sweet, the youngest cat we had was 9months old when he came to us from blue cross, he hid upstairs watching us through the bannisters. We went out one day for a short time and came back to find the tissue box empty and shredded all over the floor. Sadly this is the cat that went missing just before christmas and there has been no information about him we miss him and strangely the other cat is snuggling up to me on the settee most of the time something she has never done.

Bless. With our first cat, from the local cats protection people, he didn't get on with the dog at first and spent the first week entirely under the sideboard as the dog couldn't/wouldn't get under. He was named Angus after Angus Young [natch].

When we 'adopted' my MILs cat, he spent most of the first few days in his basket with his blanket over his head......he is now a total soppy. The kitten however was bold as brass - but they are VERY good at getting behind kitchen units so watch out!

So pleased for you, have fun.

So are you keeping the names or re-naming? If so what? Nosey beggar aren't I?

LOL, love the description of the evening antics Piskie. Next door took in a rescue cat and he spends most of his time up in the chimney (fake fireplace - phew). Hope yours soon settle and realise that Snowdrop is a big softie really

Re names, we are keeping Callie as Callie, she is the most timid one and follows her sister everywhere, she won't move without her - she is very pretty and very small and suits the 'girlie' name.

Tammy we are renaming Sammy* because Tammy is too twee and she is far and away the stronger/braver of the two - but at the moment I am just calling them scaredy cats

*unless suggestions from Grapes bring forth something else

I think that the most wonderful thing is that they're not too scared to come out and use the litter tray- bodes well me thinks!

awwwwwww bless ....... mine too was a scaredy cat when we got him, hid under the sofa for over a week, every time he came out, he looked like he'd been electrocuted cos all his fur stood on end ..... then we took in an abandoned staff puppy and he decided that he was a good toy and couldn't get rid of him after that, and he killed my leather sofas, by using them as a race track running round after the puppy.

he's now the soppiest wimpiest cat ever, who's still scared of the kitten, even though she's 9 months old now and he snuggles up in pride of place under my arm pit every night

It's a great game, playing hunt the kittens!

Our Jasper (cat) he came straight in, walked up to the dog's bowl and tucked right in... He was born on a farm and spent the first 8 weeks of his life sleeping on the dog's back The dog soon knew his place in the order of things.
