Great start. I actually had us down to win this series quite comfortably.
I'm sure we still will though.

That was a weak shot by Cook, and no need to play it.
I am pretty sure, as a 1 day side we are about as good as Vista, but as a test side I dont think we're bad at all. Whereas the Windies aren't at the races currently in test cricket.
However, words are written to be eaten. I could be doing a Tony Greig if I'm not careful

See I've always wanted to like cricket - but I just can't get my head round the rules/scoring. My father-in-law loves it.

I once tried explaining cricket to a Canadian in Macedonia. He couldnt understand the concept of a game that went on for 5 days and could still be a draw.
The rules are complex tis true, but the scoring is reasonably simple.
I would suggest going to a live game with someone who knows what its about. The atmosphere is great and you do get to understand a fair bit more by being there.
            Well I reckon anyway.

It is very confusing when you consider that when you go out you're in and when you come in you are out.

We've a local village cricket team, and I'd love to go and watch on a summer's afternoon. Whenever games were on though, we were always busy doing something else.

Well, you now have the perfect excuse to blood young Hayden into the mystical art of cricket.

Lol! I love Vista (impressed you know so much about it! ) it gives me no problems - I think we could be in for a rocky ride in the 1-dayers too!

                      .
We taught some Cannuks in Sri Lanka, twas good cos they got the bar bill after they were all out LBW.

Explaining LBW is like teaching the wife the off side rule in girlie ball.

                          Cricket explained:

You have two sides - one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out.

When both sides have been in and out including the not outs, that's the end of the game.
