    • I sometimes made a 'cauliflower-cheese with carrots' when I had to feed self, helpful neighbour and 2 growing kids on a budget (OH was working away from home, neighbour's help made running the farm viable, and he provided occasional rabbits, pigeons or, rarely, wild goose). Only difference from cauliflower cheese was that there were carrots as well under the cheese sauce. Served with crusty bread, a good economy supper.

Last night we had rump steak with brocolli cheese, jackets and grilled tomato.

Tonight we have friends over. So, I have an 8lb middle rib, roasties, yorkshires, buttered cabbage, green beans and gravy, and for pud DD will make a crumble topping for apple and cinnamon currently defrosting and probably a few frozen blackberries thrown in for good measure.

              • BOB, stop torturing yourself and go look at another thread... how was the steak by the way?

I am out tonight so not sure what we will be having. Not eating til half 8 (late for me I'm normally ready for bed then) so expect will end up with raging indigestion
I am assured though that there is always a veggie option.

                Hungry already...
