Last night we dropped in to Waitrose and they had a 'valentine special offer'. Starter, maincourse, veg, and pud (from a certain range) for 2, £10. Full price for what we chose, wuld have been nearly £15. We had parma ham starter (added some melon), Tuna steaks with chilli butter, Thai style veg, added some oven chips. Lemon cheesecake.
Tonight we have a pork tenderloin (from a proper butcher's shop, I stock up when we are in a town that has one). Not sure how I will cook it yet......Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

Tonight I had leftovers from last nights delicious chinese meal, courtesy of Mr Pipscariad - sweet and sour tofu (us veggies), and chow mein - it tasted even better tonight , followed by choc gateaux (i did pud), which was extra delicious with a generous slug of damson gin .Life is brief and very fragile, do that which makes you happy.

Welll!!!Tonight Andi finally grasped the hint that was his birthday present(J.O's Ministry of Food....start of Dec!!)& he cooked a rather yummy meatloaf served with chickpes in a tomatosauce....Daisy made many comments whilst he was cooking that the smells were already making her feel sick....but pleased to report it was a resounding success & four empty plates(even caught her an hour later sneaking bits of remaining meatloaf out of fridge!!)....so with a bit of luck it may become a weekend ritual!!!the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.
Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.xx

Tonight we're having pot-roast pheasant. Part of the Christmas meat box that still remained in the freezer. Sort of late Valentine's intimate dinner!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.
