Salmon fillets today with corn, brocolli and carrots and of course roasties.
OH was tidying presses today and found a bottle of red from last year.
As the weather was so depressing we decided to have it with dinner even though we were having fish.
Finished up with cheese and crackers.

Salmon here too. Baked with red onions, peppers, tomatoes and basil, new pots and PSB. Pretty and yummy.

hhhhhmmmmmmmm........ well i found a big spud, stuck it in the microwave, then garnished it with a knob of butter and a dollop of hellmans ....... then a couple of hours later had some ermmmm toast. ..... cooking for one is so just not fun.

Tonight dinner is in the slow cooker, its lambshanks with some lottie veg, a bit of left over pigasu and stock and it will be served with more colcannon mash so we use up the rest of the lottie savoy cabbage and cavelo nero and leeks in cream.

I have 8 kilos of fresh fish arriving today...a mystery 'catch of the day' from Ebay of course (or whatever they have left!), so fish of some description for me tonight.

Tonight I plan on making a paella (my own version).
Bob, I used to eat goat fairly often when we had the farm, never had camel. Cooked the right way goat can be nice (unless it was billy-goat, in which case I would imagine it would be pretty foul, only a nanny goat on heat could like the smell of a billy goat, that being the idea....)
I have NEVER liked mashed potato, and even now, apart from cottage pie (which doesn't count as mash) or clapshot (which I often use on cottage pie anyway) I simply refuse to eat it.

Mmm...I love lamb shanks. Lamb shank tagine is a favourite. I love mashed potato too - I think it's one of those foods that you can never actually get full eating. I can always squeeze in just a little bit more.

I was thinking of doing paella tonight too, but depends on the fish counter at Waitrose later. We've had lots of ragu or meatballs and pasta this week so need a change.

Good excuse to crack open the gorgeous Rioja that's in the cellar too! Ok, don't need an excuse, and I can only have a tiny drop anyway.

Still got my eye on doing those Cornish pasties, too...

When I make paella in England, I rely on the freezer (but I buy suitable fishy-stuff from Waitrose whenever it is on special offer) At present we have a big bag of Crevettes (won't use too many of those, OH doesn't like taking shells off), some shelled prawns, mussels, and the frozen 'fruits de mer' as well. Chorizo was on offer last night, so......
