I've had the manure delivered for my grand mulching campaign; I've been hoarding cardboard and newspaper for the same
I ordered a load of seeds about three weeks ago, but they haven't arrived yet: presumably snowbound in East Anglia
Just like the books tell you I've cleaned, sharpened and oiled all the tools, and tidied the shed twice over
I've stocked up on teabags and gas cartridges for the stove
But now we've finally got that old cliche: a proper winter, like we had when I was a boy
I checked on the plot this morning about 08 : 30, and it was -4C inside the shed, and the ground was frozen solid
So now I wait, but at least I can catch up with my other hobbies
