I was quite surprised even to get a call! I was expecting nada. Still it doesn't help the pavements.
I am now planning different routes to school in the hope that one will be better.
It's raining here now so it will either wash all the snow and ice away or wash a little bit away and then the rest will freeze tonight making the pavements worse tomrrow. Hmmmm
As I understand the law, if you do nothing, you are in the clear, but if you do ANYTHING (that would include a sign I think) then you become liable for whatever consequences arise...... Maybe someone who has a better grasp of these things can clarify?
If that's the law, they should change it. In other countries, it's only if you DON'T clear your pavement in front of your house (or school or what have you) that you are then responsible for any accidents. If you've cleared and someone falls, well that's bad luck, but at least you've tried.
My local council salt the pavements, well some pavements
they don't fix potholes though
no they dont fix our potholes either.......they are some bad ones which are going to end up causing an accident, its play a game of weaving in and out of them on some roads, our council is useless.....
If you aint supposed to salt the areas yourself why do the council replemish the salt bins that are sited at blackspots?
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

Also in some countries if you don't clear the snow from outside you property you receive a fine.
I have just given it a real pruning before it comes into leaf in the hope of getting some regeneration and the tree not having to work as hard getting water and nutrients higher up. If this doesn't work I'll replace it next year with something else.
